Kjettrup Leads English Trophy in Bid for First Win Since LIV Exit

Frederik Kjettrup holds a one-shot lead after 54 holes of the English Trophy at The Caversham, putting him in position for his first title since he was relegated from LIV Golf.

How did Kjettrup get here?

The 26-year-old Dane signed with Martin Kaymer's Cleeks GC for the 2025 LIV Golf season, giving up Korn Ferry Tour status he had earned through a three-win campaign on PGA Tour Americas. His form did not carry over to LIV, where a T30 in Mexico City stood as his best finish before he was relegated out of the league.

Since then, Kjettrup has played mostly on the HotelPlanner Tour, missing the cut in eight of his nine starts this year aside from a runner-up finish at the Blot Play9.

Where does the leaderboard stand?

Kjettrup is 16 under par after rounds of 65, 68 and 67 on Saturday, the last of those including seven birdies against two bogeys. He leads by one shot over a group tied for second: Joseba Torres, Calum Fyfe and Aron Zemmer.

A win would also move Kjettrup up the season-long Race to Mallorca standings. He entered the week 72nd with 220 points; a victory would add 320 points for a total of 540, which could push him into the top 15. Players who finish there after the season-ending Rolex Grand Final earn DP World Tour cards for 2027.
