McLaren Golf Restocks Series 1 Irons for Pre-Order

McLaren Golf has restocked its Series 1 irons, the debut club from the Formula 1 and supercar manufacturer's golf equipment line, and is taking pre-orders through retailer Fairway Jockey.

Why did the Series 1 irons sell out?

McLaren launched the Series 1 alongside a companion Series 3 model in April, with Justin Rose and Michelle Wie West putting the irons in play as the brand's first tour pros. Both are also global ambassadors and investors in McLaren Golf. The Series 1 sold out almost immediately after release; McLaren says the new batch is expected to ship within five to six weeks of order.

What technology is in the Series 1 irons?

McLaren builds the heads using Metal Injection Molding, a manufacturing process the company says allows for precise internal weighting that produces a soft feel while raising moment of inertia. That construction is intended to help long irons launch higher and short irons flight more easily. The back of the clubhead carries a honeycomb pattern, which McLaren says removes mass from non-critical areas to aid forgiveness while keeping the head rigid, alongside styling cues McLaren has drawn from its W1 supercar.

McLaren positions the Series 1 for precise ball strikers seeking more speed and stability than a traditional forged muscle-back iron provides.
