Mizuno Enters Zero-Torque Putter Market With M.Craft X Three

Mizuno has entered the zero-torque putter category with the M.Craft X Three, a £429 model built around a new hosel design the company calls the Z-Neck.

What are the M.Craft X Three's specs?

Mizuno says the Z-Neck routes the shaft axis directly through the putter's center of gravity, an approach the company positions as an alternative to the center-shafted look common on other zero-torque putters. The design is meant to keep the face square through the stroke and reduce head twisting on off-center hits.

What makes the M.Craft X Three different?

The putter is part of Mizuno's interchangeable M.Craft line, meaning golfers can swap the face and neck, the rear weight structure, or the individual weights without buying a new head. Mizuno says the parts system lets a golfer switch between a zero-torque setup and a toe-hang design on the same putter body, combining the milled carbon steel face associated with blade putters with the aluminum-backed stability of a mallet.

Reviewers have found the head offers a soft feel at impact and reliable alignment for shorter putts, credited to the milled face construction and an elongated alignment line running down the top of the putter.
