Firefly Opens Andrew Green-Designed Courses Near Nashville

An 18-hole course and a nine-hole short course have opened to members at Firefly, a new residential community in Spring Hill, Tennessee, about 30 minutes south of Nashville. They are architect Andrew Green's first original golf course designs.

What is Firefly?

Firefly spans roughly 700 acres and is being developed by Storied Development in partnership with Wheelock Street Capital. More than 150 homesites have sold since 2025, with prices ranging from $700,000 to over $2 million and home construction expected to begin in 2027. A clubhouse, pools, a bowling alley, a music hall and a racquet club are planned for later phases, while a fieldhouse, golf shop and outpost are scheduled to open in spring 2027.

What do the new courses look like?

Green's main course can play from 4,860 to 7,300 yards and was designed around the property's natural contours, with an emphasis on strategic angles and firm, contoured greens. The companion short course ranges from 70 to 210 yards per hole. Both were built with walking in mind, and the practice facilities include an 18,000-square-foot putting green, three short-game greens and a learning center equipped with Trackman and a SAM putting lab.

Green said the goal was a course that "feels discovered rather than imposed."

The courses opened to members over Labor Day weekend, marking the first golf to open at the development since it broke ground.
