Michelle Wie West has a cameo in "Zombie Golf," a low-budget horror-comedy shot in Hawaii that follows four friends whose round turns into a fight for survival during a zombie outbreak.
Maui native Lucas Zarro wrote, directed and produced the film, made for under $20,000 over a 10-day shoot on two Hawaiian islands. Maui Nui Golf Course in Kihei served as the main set, with local businesses donating costumes and catering for the cast and crew.
Zarro enlisted Wie West, a Honolulu native, to appear in the low-budget project. "Having someone like Michelle Wie West step into our scrappy little movie was surreal," he said.
Zarro said the story follows four friends who refuse to abandon their round as chaos breaks out around them, and that underneath the premise it is really about friends drifting apart. Screenings in Hawaii are planned for late October 2026, with wider distribution to follow.
